Ranting again....
This is becoming a habit.
When pro-forced-birthers use their religion to force harmful situations on women, we have every right to call them names. I don’t give a shit when their theology says life begins. Religious nuts trying to coerce others to follow their harmful ideology is immoral, unethical, and hateful. If you wanna believe it, believe it - but keep it to yourself. The bible says they’re supposed to pray in their closet, and not display their religious beliefs in public. Have they read those passages, or did they choose to ignore them?
Matthew 25-31-46 tells them all they need to know. Feed the hungry. Clothe the naked. House the homeless. Visit the sick and those in prison. Be kind, compassionate, caring, generous, merciful, forgiving, and gracious.
Not one time did Jesus tell his followers to condemn those who didn’t share their beliefs.
Not one time did he judge the people pro-forced-birthers deem lower than themselves. He didn’t tell the woman with the issue of blood to piss off. He didn’t tell the blind or the lepers to get away. He didn’t condemn the woman at the well or Zaccheus or the thief on the cross. He didn’t tell the crowd of 5000 to go find their own damn food.
LOVE was his lifestyle. The only people he judged were religious hypocrites who applied one set of standards to themselves, and another set to everyone else.
“Let he who is without sin cast the first stone,” was what he said when they brought him the woman caught in adultery, conveniently not managing to catch the man with whom she was having sex. He didn’t call her a whore or degrade her. He didn’t tell her she was going to hell.
“Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Not their sister’s. Not their mother’s. Not their trans child’s. Not the sex worker’s. Not the undocumented immigrant’s.
Not one time in their holy book does, “Condemn, degrade, insult, subordinate, and oppress those who don’t agree with you,” appear.
“Love your neighbor as yourself,” appears in its pages ten times.
1 Corinthians is an entire chapter written about love.
Pro-forced-birthers are hypocrites who ignore the log in their own eye while pointing out the splinter in someone else’s. They’ll condemn a single pregnant woman while making excuses for the man who got her pregnant. They’ll do everything they can to subjugate us so they can once again treat us like property with no autonomy.
Fuck them.
